Before I became vegan I always struggled to lose weight – and most of all, keep it off!
As soon as I started eating a 100% plant based diet, I started losing weight almost instantly. In fact, I lost over 50 pounds within about 5 months.
Best of all, I found that I could still have “junk food”, but instead of oily and greasy garbage, I created healthy vegan versions that were good for me and tasted great 🙂
So here are my top “10 Healthy Vegan Junk Food Recipes To Help You Lose Weight”:
10 Minute Pizza
This quick and easy pizza is great for using up any left overs that you might have in the fridge. A hot lunch on the table in less than 15 minutes – now who doesn’t like that!
Vegan Paprika Cheese without Nuts or Soy
This recipe is so easy to make and is great for a cheese platter, on crackers, in a toasted sandwich or anywhere where you would normally use sliced or grated cheese.

A quick and easy fried rice that tastes like you have been cooking for hours. A favorite with kids and adults alike!

A simple recipe that is always a crowd pleaser. Great to take on picnics or when you get invited to a friend’s house… or just enjoy the whole lot on your own (like I often do)!
Vegan Mac & Cheese Recipe
Now who doesn’t love a good bowl of Mac and Cheese? This awesome vegan version is so tasty that even kids think it has “real” cheese in it. This amazing recipe will leave you gob-smacked at just how “junky” it tastes 😉

If you have some extra time up your sleeve and want to make something special, then this Lasagna Style Potato Bake is the BEST!!! So rich and full of flavor, yet light on the hips. This is one of our family favorites 🙂
Potato Crusted Vegan Quiche
I make this recipe all the time! My son loves it, my husband loves it, and whenever I serve it at a dinner party there are never any leftovers. If you are short on time you can always use some store-bought vegan puff pastry for the base, but keep in mind that this does add extra calories to the dish.
No Oil Vegan Hash Browns Recipe
These hash browns are absolutely amazing. They are fantastic for breakfast, lunch or dinner and I advise you to make a double (or triple) batch as these always get eaten at lightning speed.
So there you have it, my favorite collection of healthy vegan junk foods… super tasty, easy to make and light on the hips – ENJOY!

Donna, our bodies thrive whole foods and too much protein is actually bad for us. Have a look at a website called http://www.nutritionfacts.org for lots of great information. Also, watch a movie called Forks Over Knives and read a book called The CHina Study. These are packed full of great information and research.
Very inspiring. Will have to try some of these. They look nice and tasty and the best thing is – they are good for you.
Did you lose your 50# incorporating exercise?
Do you avoid added ingredients in some canned products or find it doesn’t matter?
Do you limit the amount of avocados, nuts and dates?
Sorry for all the questions. You look beautiful and congratulations on your weight loss.
I am very lazy by nature… so no exercise during the weight loss. Although after losing my weight and going vegan I gained lots more energy and do go walking and general park play now 🙂 I just kept everything as whole food as possible and limited my oil intake. I kept a diary and logged what I ate to see what worked and what didn’t 🙂 x
I have been watching you for a couple of years and love your recipes. I am vegan but still struggle with weight loss. I know that incorporating more whole foods and skipping the processed vegan junk foods will be the answer to sustainable weight loss. Thanks for putting these together.
