Firstly, get your oven going at 175° C or 350° F. Next get a baking tray and line it with non-stick baking paper.
Let your puff pastry thaw for about 5 minutes (leaving the plastic in place that it comes on). When ready, sprinkle the sugar and cinnamon over the puff pastry and then spread it evenly with your hand.
Once you’re happy with sugar/cinnamon spread lightly mark the center line of the puff pastry and then roll in one side of the puff pastry till you meet the center line. Next, roll the other pastry sheet from the other side so you end up with something similar looking to an old scroll.
Chop the scroll into 1/4″ (6mm) slices and place them onto the lined baking tray. Make sure you give each slice enough room to expand without hitting a neighboring slice on the tray.
Place the baking tray in the oven for approximately 12 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown and the sugar has caramelised.
Best served hot to eager visitors… or just yourself!
This recipe is highly adaptable. Try adding some crushed nuts – walnuts, almonds, pistachios etc. You could add some maple syrup for an extra sweet hit!
