Indian Spiced Carrot Hummus Dip
Ingredients
- 2 large carrots peeled, diced and steamed soft
- 1 clove Garlic
- 400 gram Can Chickpeas, drained reserve a few chickpeas for decoration
- 1/4 tsp Cumin Powder
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/4 tsp ginger powder
- 1/2 tsp coarse celtic sea salt
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 3 tbs coconut cream
- 2 tbs Filtered Water
- Optional Toppings for decoration: chickpeas, fresh herbs eg. cilantro/coriander, cumin seeds, coconut cream

Instructions
- Place all ingredients in a food processor or powerful blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
- Top with whatever toppings you would like to add eg. chickpeas, fresh herbs eg. cilantro/coriander, cumin seeds, coconut cream.
- Serve with fresh cut vegetables (carrots, cucumbers, red bell peppers etc), crackers or poppadoms! YUMBO!

Another delicious recipe Anja, thank you. Yes, the flavours are amazing, I made a second batch today, this time using steamed pumpkin instead of carrot, it is very good too. I make a lot of hummus so always interested to try a new recipe. Makes a quick lunch with some pita and raw veges.

I didn’t have coconut cream on hand so I just kind of “wung it” and started making it without to see what the consistency would be like and add what I had accordingly. Kept some of the bean water on hand like in your other hummus recipe. In the end, it turned out great with just all the other ingredients! Very happy with this recipe – always nice to get a little beta carotene with your protein. And as always, no oil is great! 😉
