Hi how long will this keep in the fridge? I found your YouTube channel recently and I am hooked on your videos! Really amazing and inspiring ideas:-)
It should keep for about 5 to 7 days 🙂 …. but it never lasts that long in our house because it gets eaten up straight away. Thanks for your feedback!!
Anja,
I really like your recipes!!! This Oil-free Hummus is delicious. I use it in place of butter on my bread and love the taste. The Elephant Ear cookies are now my husband’s new favorite. And the Lemon Spiked Potato Soup has been requested again by my daughter. Thank you for your videos and inventive recipes. Wishing you a fabulous holiday season. I will try more of your ideas soon.
Take care,
Christine
Thank you for your lovely feedback Christine. I’m so glad that you and your family are enjoying my recipes 🙂 More coming soon!!! Happy holidays to you too. Best wishes, Anja
Oh yay! I have been looking for an oil free hummus recipe, this sounds great!
Can the seasoning be adjusted to taste?
Also, if I leave out the garlic (FODMAPS reactive) will it still be the same?
Glad you like it 🙂 Yes, adjust the seasoning to taste. Personally I love the garlic taste, but you can leave it out if needed.
Hello Anja 🙂
I don’t find tahini in my city. What other ingredient can I use?
Thank You*
Just leave it out. It does add nice creaminess though. Maybe you can get it online.
I love this recipe! I can’t stop making it!
It’s one of my favorites too!
the first hummus recipe w/o oil that i actually love— thank you!!
I’m so glad Wendy 🙂 x
I just made this and it is fabulous! I’ve been looking for the perfect hummus recipe and finally found it. Thank you!
So glad you like it as much as I do 🙂
By far the best oil free hummus recipe I have tried. Love the creamy texture, it’s better than the “original” hummus! Thank you Anja
So glad you like it as much as I do 🙂
Tahini is a paste made with sesame seeds and oil. It us very oily so i don’t see how it can be said there is no oil. I wonder if ground sesame seeds might be an option. I like thus recipe though.
No, no oil. Mine is just ground up sesame seeds. I buy it in containers from my local middle eastern shop or from the supermarket. Just make sure the only ingredient is sesame seeds.
I use dry peas and beans could I add water and alt instead of the brine?
Love this as hummus! I use more brine to thin consistency and pour in salads and wilted greens, delish! My favorite hummus recipe ever! Thank you
Hi Anja,
I’m actually middle eastern and hummus is made with no Cannellini Beans, you got all the rest right, yes we do use some extra vergine olive oil in it which is not bad at all as without oil our body does not soak any nutrients, I do not think that the original hummus recipe should be changed at all for vegan as it is and always was very health for the heart and vegan to begin with!
Hello Halo… I do not cook or use oil because I have had heart issues in the past. Oil causes inflammation in the body and builds plaque in the arteries. It is not a health food. Here are a couple of links for some extra info: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_o4YBQPKtQ and also this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OGGQxJLuVjg Here is also some extra information regarding coconut oil etc: http://nutritionfacts.org/?s=coconut+oil
Love this recipe! I’d been buying hummus for years, but didn’t realize they’re full of oil! Thank you:) love to eat this with cucumber chips or snap peas since I am trying to lose weight:)
I haven’t made hummus in a while and I usually just buy it in the store, but this recipe looks simple and delicious. I will definitely be trying it out!
Fantastic recipe, very creamy. I’ve been trying out different recipes and this will be one of my favorites. We’ve been on vegan eating for a month now and having fun trying recipes, when we found you on YouTube I really liked the easy way you cook. Thank you.
