This Tofu Chorizo is a super tasty vegan ground meat substitute that is perfect to use in tacos, burritos, lasagna, or even tossed through a salad or on a baked potato. The options are endless!
Tofu Chorizo
Ingredients
- 375 g Firm Tofu
- 1 tbsp Tamari or Soy Sauce
- 1 tbsp Dried Onion Flakes
- 1 tbsp Smoked Paprika
- 1 tsp Onion Powder
- 1 tsp Chilli Flakes
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 1 tsp Ground Cumin
- 1 tsp coarse celtic sea salt or to taste
- 1 tsp Ground Black Pepper or to taste
- 1 tsp Liquid Smoke
Servings: serve

Instructions
- Crumble tofu into a non-stick fry pan (do not put heat on yet).
- Add all remaining ingredients to the pan.
- Turn heat to medium high and stir for 5 to 10 minutes until the texture is to your preferred consistency. You can leave it as soft or make it as crispy as you like.

This was so delicious, I used it as a taco filling on some warm corn tortillas topped with cilantro… this will go into my regular rotation! Also one of the fastest dinners I’ve ever cooked!

Do you need any oil in the pan or is the liquid from the tofu sufficient to cook it all in?
I don’t use oil in my cooking.
I would love to see more meat substite recipes, as well as more cheese sauce recipes. You can never have too many of either! lol
